Cory Booker, burst on the national scene in the early 2000s, a Yale educated lawyer

who moved to the inner city of Newark to try and affect social change and reform a corrupt

political system.

He was elected mayor in 2006, launched highly watched initiatives to quell the high levels

of violence in that city, to reform the schools, to restore the economy of Newark.

And in 2014 was elected to the US Senate now, as you know, he's running for president of

the United States.

I sat down with Senator Booker from my CNN TV show.

Senator Cory Booker, welcome home.

It is incredible to be sitting here with you and really what was a locus of a lot of

community change.

Here at City Hall.

Yes, it's powerful for me to sit here.

It's been a while since I've sat right here.

Let me ask you a question.

When you sit here, now you've been a United States Senator for five years.

Or so, do you sit here and say, man, I kind of like being able to make decisions and make

things happen, a little less talk, a little more action.
