Why It Matters, the significance of what she calls placemaking, and what it means to dig deep into where you're planted.

Her book is a memoir on her first year in their farmhouse and what it meant to find where

she was supposed to be even though she never knew it. We talk about the significance of seasons,

How long have you been up there?

We have been here four years, although I have been away from Texas for 19 years now.

Oh, I didn't know that.

Yeah, yeah, I moved when I was 20, but grew up there and a lot of family still there.

Okay.

So I know you come here a lot.

Does it feel like home at all anymore?

No, man, that's a complicated question.

Yes and no.

It feels like a part of myself, but it doesn't feel like home.

It's not where I'm headed.
