This is February 4th, 2020 and tonight we're in a big pile of shit.

Yesterday was the Iowa caucus and what happened there was unforgivable.

The people went and voted and their votes right up until now are still not fully counted.

I'm not going to go into the whole story.

You either know about it or you don't.

You can look it up if you don't, but basically the reporting system that they set up with

this special app from the 1700 plus precincts didn't work and nobody knew by the end of

the night who had received any votes.

Let alone delegates to the Democratic National Convention this July.

But I want to disfete you right now before you sunk too far into any deep well of despair

or cynicism because I want all of us to look at the long picture here, both of what is

in front of us.

But also what we've come from 231 years ago today, the Electoral College met for the first

time.

They gathered together in this new democracy where only white male property owners were

allowed to vote for the first president.

There was essentially only one candidate on the ballot of this new democracy.
