Today I am joined by Laura Wittig, she is the CEO and founder of Brightly, which is essentially like a wire cutter, but for ethical and sustainable products, which is something that I think we've been trying to do a lot more of or at least I guess

I'm so happy to have you here because honestly like I love a good ethical

sustainable product but it is totally a blind spot for me because I like you

noticed when you created your company I just kind of don't know where to start.

So how did how did brightly kind of come about?

Yeah, so you know one of the reasons we started Bright Leaves, exactly for what you just said.

I feel like so many people want to do right for the planet.

They want to do things like shopping, you know, shopping for that, for their values, but it's really hard to get started so

what we wanted to do with brightly was to take a look at all of the brands and

products in the So it might not be capital fair trade with the exact certification because that can be kind of difficult for small brands to get

But we want to make sure that you know everyone is being paid responsibly etc

We also look at materials, so we definitely prioritize products that are made

with materials that are kind to the environment. And that there's like such a gray area and all of these things so my team and I kind of go through

you know all these brands all these products almost on a daily basis the other thing that's

interesting to is my co-founder Lisa, she and I found that we were kind of like already doing this ourselves in our lives.
