I have on my midwife Sarah, who was actually my midwife for all three of my

0:36.1

births and she's just somebody that I admire in the birthing world and just

0:41.1

really embodies I guess the type of care that I wish every single person

0:47.2

could have she's just so supportive and very big on informed consent and would never just make decisions or tell you

0:59.2

that like you can or can't do something It's always a collaborative conversation and just is awesome. Like I said, I just really want this type of care for every single person. And so I'm really excited that she's on the

induction birth that you're being told that you need to have. So we're going to

1:39.8

talk about what risk actually is and kind of like what puts you into some of those categories and how midwifery versus

1:46.8

obstetric care changes those outcomes. So there's people put in a high risk category and research has

1:56.4

shown that with midwifery care they have better birthing outcomes than with

2:00.6

obstetric care because in obstetrics they're like oh you're high risk so we

2:04.4

have to do all these medical interventions when not necessarily when things if things are

2:09.6

managed and and you're still being monitored and considering, you know, different options that

2:17.6

Midwifery care can provide way different outcomes for you.
