When you consider the Bernie Sanders campaign and the buzz that it's created and particularly

online and the amount of money they've raised online that is really sustaining that effort,

you can't not think about Joe Trippie.

Joe Trippie is the political consultant who ran the Howard Dean campaign in 2004 and

really introduced the world to the political power of the internet both in terms of fundraising

and organizing and the Obama campaign, the Sanders campaign and other campaigns have

built on what Joe did.

He also is a guy with a decades, decades, decades, long history in democratic politics, lots

of interesting campaigns.

I sat down with him the other day to chew over all of that and more.

Joe Trippie, my fellow political war horse, so good to have you here, good to have you

as a fellow at the Institute of Politics.

We've known each other for a really long time.

A long time.

But in getting ready for this conversation, I kind of went back and reviewed your wonderful

book, The Revolution Will Not Be Televised and you know history.

And I forgot the kind of road you traveled to get here because we're all kind of informed

by our experiences.
