vocalist and guitarist for the Brighton England indie rock band Lovejoy.

Together we tackle the writing, recording, and inspiration behind the fan-favored single,

Scoundrels, taken from their 2025 full-length debut album, one simple trick.

I told Will that the first thing that jumped out to me here was that I was listening to a four-piece band. A band that

could jump on stage at the local club plug in and play without the use of extra tracks or

instrumentation. So it was interesting to hear him say that some reviews of the record felt

the production to be a bit sparse. Well, if sounding like a real band is considered sparse, then sign me up.

This song is great, and the production, led by Allie Chant, is perfect.

This sounds immediate, real, and authentic, from the musicianship down to Will's vocal delivery.

The arrangement is unorthodox, but as we'll put it, we just do what feels good.
