Well, the big danger is when the surf, well, it swells when you're out in the ocean,

when the swells reach a certain shallowness of water.

And that's actually a very calculable thing.

So you have to keep track of what the depth of the water where you are is and what the biggest size of rogue wave might be,

because if you're too close or you get too big a rogue wave, you'll be crushed in a huge roller.
