Welcome to talking scripture, I'm Mike and I'm Bryce. And today we're going to be in

Mormon 1 through 6. This is the disintegration of the Nephites.

They go from being this delights and people in fourth Nephite,

and then if you remember our last podcast,

we showed you how they build up Zion

and then the end that's disintegrated,

and then Mormon lives to witness the complete collapse of all of the goodness that they had.

And this society had an incredible amount of light and when they turn against it no one is more

wicked than those who turn against the fullness of light so we're gonna see greater

wickedness among the Nephites than any other group of people. The Lord's going to say that, that this is the most wicked group of people that has ever existed.

Now may I suggest that this section is going to introduce us to what I believe is the hero of the Book of Mormon.

I have asked many Latter-day Saints, who's your favorite character?

Who's your hero of the Book of Mormon?

And many of them will say the classic ones.

You know, the Captain Maroni, Alma the Younger, Lamoni, Amman, Nephi, brother of Jarrett, all the great characters. Very rarely does anyone ever tell

me that their hero in the Book of Mormon is Mormon. And I think the reason is that Mormon in his

meekness filter does not write his greatness into the book. He's very quick to write the greatness of his heroes, Captain
