Today we're looking at the second half of the Song Dynasty known as the southern Song.

Now the imperial government is based south of the Yangse in what is present day Hong Jo.

The Jirchens or Manchus had invaded Soong lands and took the capital in Khifung.

And as you recall, they captured almost the entirety of the Soong Imperial Court and marched

them back to their capital to suffer a lifetime of indignities and whatnot.

They controlled everything north of the Yang Tse, leaving everything south of the Changchien,
