He was an investigative reporter with a knack for uncovering the truth and making shockwaves.

Most people who dealt with Jeff, the journalist, knew him to be no nonsense, no nonsense,

a straight shooter who always searched for the truth.

He had a nose for sniffing out, the corrupt, the nefarious.

We knew him to be those things, too, but we were very proud of his many years of

service to the community and as numerous accolades as a newspaper reporter.

In a tragic turn, Jeff's own story would be covered in the headlines. On September 2nd,

2022, his longtime neighbor grew concerned because Jeff's garage door

remained open, and Jeff didn't respond to text messages or calls. Roe Bailey finally went to the house

across the street around 9.15 a.m. on September 3rd to see what was going on. He went to the side of Jeff's

house. The bushes were bloody. I saw Jeff. You saw Jeff. Was he on the ground? Yes, he was. Okay. So you saw

him, and based on that, what did you do? I called 911.

69-year-old Jeff German had been fatally stabbed in the neck and in his torso.
