They're disturbing, but last night and early this morning I spoke to people on the ground in Portland.

And there's one very important thing I need to

share with you about what is not only going on in Portland, but what might be

going on soon in cities all over the country. This is Sean King and you are listening to

In just a moment I want to talk to you about what is going on in Portland right now.

It's deeply disturbing, but there's a piece missing to the way the story is being covered by the mainstream media and we'll talk about that in just a moment but

first I wanted to take some time to honor the life and legacy of a young journalist named Michael Brooks who was one of the favorite commentators

and thinkers and even comedians on the progressive left.

We often don't feel like anybody on the mainstream news, be it MS NBC or NBC or CNN, it's hard to find people that actually

represent us on those channels, on those platforms.

And so many of us, myself included, have created alternative outlets for us to

speak the truth as we know it to cover the issues that we care about because we often feel like

we don't have a voice in mainstream corporate media in great part because we are critiquing those corporations and those outlets and those

commentators and and calling them out and calling the the corporations and

funding behind them out.

But Michael Brooks was one of the most beloved, trusted,

thinkers, thought leaders, commentators on progressive politics, on democratic socialism, on presidential politics and he was somebody that I listened to and enjoyed a great deal.
