On Friday, May 24th, 2019, a missing person complaint came into the New Canaan Police Department in New Canaan, Connecticut.

Lauren Almeida, the nanny who worked for the Doolos family, was calling to report that her employer and friend, Jennifer Farber Doolos, was missing.

We told the police that a mother of five was missing and that she was in a very contentious divorce.

Sergeant Aaron Lautorett was one of the first officers to respond to 69 Wells Lane, the home where Jennifer lived with her five children.

The caller stated that Jennifer did not go to a doctor's appointment in New York City and that she was missing and

what type of area is 69 wells, Lane? It's a residential area and that street is a dead-end cul-de-sac.

Do you recall around what time you went there? Approximately 7 p.m. Sergeant Law Charet and Officer Blank went to the front

door of the large home and rang the bell. No answer. They walked the perimeter to see if they could find anyone.

The Nanny, Lauren, had given them a garage code, so they used that to enter.

It was a three-car garage, and in the center was a black SUV.

Officer Blank used his radio to call on the registration plate to see who owned it.

So did you notice anything in the garage that drew your attention?

Officer Blank and myself entered the garage. We walked to the left of that

SUV, the driver side of that vehicle. We walked to the front of that vehicle. I checked the

door knob from the garage leading from the garage into the residence. The

door knob was unlocked. We waited in front of that vehicle at the door until

the dispatcher got back that registration

information to us. While we waited, I looked at the vehicle and noticed that

there was what appeared to be red blood on the front of that vehicle.
