did on March the 19th 2024. On March 19th, Carly shot and killed her mom and then tried to kill her stepfather.

She then fled the house, leaving her bleeding stepfather to call 911 for help.

She was later located by police and then arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assaults,

and tampering with evidence.

At trial, prosecutors didn't have to prove that Carly had been the killer.

The defense readily admitted that she had done it,

but they said she had been experiencing a mental health crisis, and they
