Summary

Sometimes we feel like our less than perfect pasts disqualify us from being used by God. Or, we want our lives to have impact and meaning but we wonder how and when God is going to produce fruit in our lives. Perhaps we remember when God spoke a promise to us through His Word, but we haven’t seen it come to pass yet. I can’t wait for today’s episode as we trace through Genesis God’s promise for our lives to bear fruit. We’re going to discover that while we get to participate with God, having a life of impact and meaning is something He’s responsible for!  So often in the Old Testament men and women felt like God had forgotten them or their lives didn’t matter. They tried to “help” God fulfill His promises to them, like Abraham and Sarah did. We’re going to see that no matter what, our fruitfulness is based on God’s faithfulness. And how resting in that truth makes all the difference.  For the full show notes visit kellyminter.com/podcast

Because at the time of this recording, today, right now, in this moment, I am having a birthday.

1:31.1

Now, I was not thinking about recording a podcast on my birthday. You know, when I was thinking about all the things I wanted to do, I just have to tell you this is not the thing that I was thinking about. However, it's just one of those things. It's been a little bit of a busy week. And this was the day that it landed that I needed to have a podcast to deliver to you on a Tuesday. And so today's my birthday, and I am sitting with you.

1:36.9

I get to sit with you and make this a little bit about a celebration of what God is doing in really all of our lives. Now, I don't know if you're like this with me, but on my birthday

1:42.4

and around my birthday, I get pretty contemplative. I mean,

1:45.8

I also love to have a party, and I'm definitely doing that tonight with cake. And my mom happens to be in

1:52.9

town, and she is making me a homemade birthday cake. And yes, I'm super happy about that. But I get really

1:59.3

reflective. In fact, I spent some time this morning journaling.

2:02.8

I think back on just what God has done for me in the previous year, what I am looking forward

2:08.0

and expecting in the future year to come. And so because this is kind of a day of reflection for me,

2:15.3

I thought, I want to take you through a really

2:20.5

meaningful message to me that has a lot to do with God's faithfulness in our lives and the

2:26.2

way that he will continue to be faithful. I think all of us are like this in that we want

2:32.1

our lives to matter. So especially at our birthday, we

2:35.4

tend to ask that question. Okay, I'm turning another year older. Is my life mattering? Is it

2:40.6

mattering for the things of the Lord? Is my, am I close to the Lord in my life? You know, where is he
