Oftentimes when you are crafting a rhythm, you do it really badly at first. In other words,

0:04.2

you don't really know how much time some of this stuff really needs.

0:13.0

What's up, guys? Welcome to Five Minute Fatherhood. So one of the things that you have to really

0:17.3

wrestle with and you start living rhythmically, one of the biggest transitions people have to go through

0:21.2

is they have to decide how discipline they're going to be in respecting time-bounded limits

0:28.7

to the things that they are assigning on their rhythm. So an example is when you say I'm going to

0:36.5

spend an hour, you know, let's say cleaning, doing a bunch of chores

0:41.4

around the house, and you get into it and you end up spending two hours. Well, that has a ripple

0:48.1

1:25.2

thing happens with money. There's really two ways to handle money.

1:28.3

You can just throw all the money that you have and not pay attention to how much you have,

1:33.8

the scarcity of your budget at whatever thing you're interested in right then, this nice

1:39.5

restaurant I want to eat at or this item I want to buy. And the only way to stop that is through budgeting,

1:45.4

through giving every single dollar a name before you spend it. Now, there is an equivalence to that

1:52.2

with time. You can give every minute a name before you spend it. And if you do that, then you will

1:58.7

begin to be able to craft a much more balanced daily rhythm,

2:03.8

weekly rhythm, and life. But that takes a lot of discipline and the big discipline and where
