That site couldn't be more perfectly named. And it's particularly apt for the subject matter today because what we're talking about is a subset of a larger problem about what's

going on in the legal profession, but it's a really, really significant and important subset

because we want to talk in particular about what's been happening to a man named John Eastman.

And I would be willing to bet that probably not even half the people listening know the name

John Eastman, but you need to know it. Not simply for the injustices taking place in his particular

case, but also for what this means more broadly for us as a society, what it means for us in

terms of the legal system we're all going to live under,

and what it means about the kind of people who populate that system nowadays and where it's all

headed. So, Mark, I'm afraid, you know, sometimes I say when I talk about depressing topics,

that I feel like I'm, I want to say the same thing to a guest that I would say if we met at a funeral. You know, I'm sorry we're meeting under these circumstances, but likewise, I'm sorry that it has to be for such a topic, but we have to talk about John Eastman. So let's start there. So I've read quite a few of John Eastman's articles over the years, and as a matter of fact, I was doing some writing on the subject of birthright

citizenship, and he's written on that. So I've always liked him. And for me, it's even worse to

see what he's enduring because I've always admired him. And to see him, I don't know how old he is,

but he's older than I am, at this stage of his life having to fend off attack after

attack, draining his savings, when it's absolutely all unjust and unjustified is really, really

unspeakable. But would you mind just starting off by just letting people know who John Eastman is?

Yes, and thanks for showcasing this issue. I'm happy to talk about John Eastman. And just so your

listeners know, I'm not his brother-in-law, not his fraternity brother, his college classmate.

I wasn't the best friend at his wedding or vice versa. I've only met him a couple of times.

But the reason I'm speaking off about John Eastman is because he is a conservative lawyer

like I was when I was practicing a conservative lawyer.
