Hi everybody, Tom Woods here. It's episode 2683 of the Tom Woods show. We have our old friend Seifadine Amuse on here with us. You know him from his online commentary and Twitter account, which is sharp and unmissable. But on a more fundamental and more permanent level, we know him, of course, for his very important

0:39.5

books, the Bitcoin standard, the Fiat standard, principles of economics. One chapter of one of

0:45.5

Safedine's books spun off into an entirely separate book about Fiat food, and we talked about that

0:52.0

book on here. So there's so much that's so rich in there, perhaps you'll read one of Safe Adean's books, and a chapter will inspire you to write a book of your own. But anyway, Safe, welcome back. Thank you for having me, Tom. Always a pleasure to be chatting to you. Well, what I love about having you on is there are so many things we can talk about all in one episode. So we're going to jump around a little bit.

1:11.5

Let me start off with the Bitcoin-related question. You obviously know about Michael Saylor and

1:18.1

micro-strategy or strategy, and they are describing themselves now as a Bitcoin Treasury company.

1:24.5

I mean, you know, they have software. I mean, they are a company in the traditional

1:28.7

sense, but in another way, they're a very, very different kind of company. And we've started to

1:34.1

see a handful of others following in its footsteps, but micro strategy just has everybody beat

1:40.4

by a mile. What is your take or commentary on that particular phenomenon?

1:46.2

Well, I mean, it's been absolutely mind-blowing watching it unfold over the last five years.

1:50.9

I'm going to get the bragging out of the way first and say that Michael Selaver wrote the

1:54.6

intro for the second printing of the Bitcoin standard. And he said that my book was the most

1:59.9

influential book in getting him down the Bitcoin matter hole and getting him to adopt this Bitcoin standard. And he said that my book was the most influential book in getting him down

2:01.9

the Bitcoin radical and getting him to adopt this Bitcoin strategy. So the basic idea of the

2:07.7

Bitcoin status is that Bitcoin is the best money ever. And Michael Saylor, you know, I'm an academic.

2:13.0

So it took me many years of research and study and digging up the rock bar and the

2:18.0

mesas and arguing with people online and getting called names by Keyneses and calling them names

2:23.6

and then writing a book about it, you know, then starting to stack seriously and starting

2:28.9

to invest in it seriously only after I had studied it very, very extensively.
