Now we all know there is no off season when it comes to football and right now,

most college teams are either in spring practice or gearing up for it.

The truth is that the spring and the summer is way more important than fall camp can and will

ever be. The reason is because the team and the team's personality is actually formed

through the blood and the sweat of the spring and the summer.

Now the transfer portal has only increased the need to get guys in during spring,

not only to learn the playbook, but to form that cohesion.

Now that isn't to say that there aren't great players that teams get post spring,

but football isn't a sport where you just show up and you're instantly accepted.

You have to earn that right on and off the field.

Now the beauty of spring is being able to be around the other guys you're going to go ball with

without the game pressure of Saturdays upon you. You form bonds through the grueling

heat and conditioning. That's what pays off on fourth and one because you have to understand

when you're watching games during the fall, those big plays, those big stops,

those incredible endings and upsets are earned right now. Not then,
