Las Loslo Montgomery here again, offering up another pearl of wisdom,

especially for you, taken from the annals of Chinese history.

After a longer than expected break we are back and we're right in the middle of the Tang

Dynasty. To recap from where we were last time, Liguen seized power from the Sui rulers in 617.

The yans of the Sui didn't have the mandate of heaven for too long. The next year

Li Yuan establishes the Tang Dynasty with the help of his sons, most notably

Lee Shirmin, who later on forces his father from the throne and then goes on to rule as

Tang Taizung from 626 to 648, a golden age in China. He dies and it's a big mess but his son Li Jir is put on the

throne and reigns as Emperor Gao Zung. Gao Zung was a weak and later physically feeble emperor.

He didn't have too much in common with his great father, the late emperor Tizung.
