Summary

"Have you ever had a miscarriage. If so, how did you deal with it?"

I've been asked some version of this question for years, and while the simple answer is yes, in this podcast I delve into the way that my stories of loss have helped shape me as a mother and given me empathy for those who have walked the same hard road.

Here, you will find space for your grief but also encouragement and hope for your future.

Together, we tackle a hard, often hidden, topic with the grace of God and the knowledge that we can "mourn with those mourn" as well as spur each other on toward healing and renewed perspective on the goodness of God.

You can also find a blog post I wrote about my first two miscarriages here.

And we just finished an entire epic series

0:16.6

on my 10 birth stories broken down into,

0:19.6

I don't even remember how many episodes

0:21.4

because we combined some, and there were some twin wirths in there.

0:24.7

But I wanted to move on to something that is related in some ways but the flip side of the

0:30.3

coin and it is something that I get asked about every single week when I do

0:34.2

what do you want to know Wednesday which is the Q&A that I do on my social media each

0:38.2

week and it's something that I know that so many women feel deeply about and have experienced and

0:46.7

yet they feel a lot of isolation and they feel very lonely in their pain and

0:51.0

that is the topic of miscarriage. And so I know from

0:54.7

you're telling me that quite a few of you are making it through the last legs of

1:00.2

your pregnancy on my birth stories because it's giving you excitement and anticipation. of your which is a condition where a pregnant woman experiences continuous and

1:15.2

extreme nausea throughout significant portions of her pregnancy. It is

1:19.7

really really hard. I haven't experienced it myself but I have friends who have and it is just

1:25.4

so debilitating and so discouraging while at the same time knowing that you are going through this valley you're going through this

1:35.4

hardship for the sake of your precious baby and so I see so much strength

1:39.7

and courage and women who go through that and yet they've written me and told me they've received encouragement and

1:44.8

comfort from listening to my birth stories. So I know this is a tender topic that

1:48.8

we're addressing today and I will address it from a place of tenderness. I will address it from a place of understanding because I have been there multiple times and also from a place of knowing that some of you mamas that are almost near the end of your

2:03.1

pregnancies may not be ready for this topic right now. Maybe you've never
