United Territories of Reagan is a real idea that's been brought up by a former speechwriter for presidents Reagan and Bush.

Douglas McKinnon, a former speech writer for President's Reagan and George H.W. Bush appeared Tuesday on the Janet Mefford Show.

To promote his new book, The Secessionist States of America,

A Blueprint for Creating a traditional values country now.

He wants the southern states, starting with Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, to leave the United States so they can implement a right-wing Christian form of government, particularly protecting our faith when it comes to gay marriage.

Yeah.

And he said, until we come up with a better name, let's call it Reagan.

Okay, sure.
