What's going on today is that I had a great guest lined up and I will bring this guest on

next week, but he fell ill at the time we were set to record.

And I'm heading out of town and I really would like to generate my usual number of episodes.

So today I've decided to do something a little bit unusual.

Last week, Gene Epstein and I talked about what happened at the Soho Forum during my, what was supposed to be debate on the wisdom or prudence or necessity, alleged necessity, of the various

COVID interventions.

So we analyzed how I did, but what I'd like to do today actually is share for you just the two opening statements.

Now as you'll recall, my debate opponent, Brent Orell, could not make the event.

His very, very young granddaughter tragically died two days before the event.

So of course our deepest condolences to him as I expressed at the time.

So what ended up happening was Gene Epstein, the moderator of the

Soho Forum, read Brant's prepared remarks. Brant sent them along so that at least

some kind of an evening could still be salvaged.

So Gene read Brent's opening remarks and then I delivered mine along with extra time for rebuttal that was built into my opening statement and then we just

sat down and did audience questions so I'll link to the full video in the

description of this one and also at Tom Woods.com slash 2490.
