professional counselor who has been working with people who have OCD and anxiety since 2008.

She has experience working at all levels of care, including eight years at a residential recovery unit with some of the most debilitating cases of OCD in the world.

She is also the host of her own podcast called All the Hard Things and struggled with postpartum OCD when she had her now four-year-old.

So Jenna, the first thing that came to mind for me when we started chatting about doing a podcast

episode together was how people can throw around the term OCD so flippantly.

I mean, I recently heard someone make a comment about how the

coming inside. And, you know, I was hoping you can kind of clarify this for us. Like when you

OCD comes up, like cleanliness OCD or contamination OCD, what's under there? What's happening

with OCD? You often call it the doubting disease. So can you just tell us a little bit more

about the nature of OCD? Absolutely. So I agree with you. It is a huge problem. And it seems

like as soon as I start to believe that maybe we're going more in the right direction, that someone

else uses it in a really not helpful way. Just for instance, the other day I was at the gym and I do like a, I do a boot camp

style workout. And at the end of the of the camp, I was, you know, helping just put the weights back,

just trying to be like nice and helpful. And someone asked, oh, do you have OCD? And I wanted to be like, girl, you have no idea.
