the Thanksgiving episode.

So happy Thanksgiving to everybody who is watching this

on the day of Thanksgiving.

I am very pleased to be spending Thanksgiving day

with Gene Epstein recording this episode for you.

Now obviously you know we are not recording this on Thanksgiving day,

but we're recording it with Thanksgiving in mind because we are going to give thanks today for a bunch of things,

especially because we have good reason to gripe and complain. I don't criticize us for griping and complaining. We have good reason to do it.

But we also have things to be thankful about. We're going to talk a little bit about that.

Just like when you were in the third grade and the teacher would ask you what are you thankful for.

In fact, we just, Gene, we just discovered we were going through the garage.

We're doing a super systematic clean of the whole house.

We went through the garage, we found some old keepsakes from the kids and one of them was a

placement that Elizabeth made when she was very, very, very young and she put in there all the things

she was thankful for on Thanksgiving. So it was her family and things like that.

And for some reason she had put pencils. And I thought, you know, good for her that she

appreciates the simple things in life, although little does she know at that age

just how complicated that pencil is right?
