Summary

When faced with the most destructive hurricane to date, the city of Galveston faced an unspeakable tragedy with extraordinary resilience. As the city struggled to recover, the citizens were already planning to rebuild. As it turns out, they would go farther than anyone ever they thought possible. Hear about the incredible spirit of Texas as expressed in the recovery from the Great Storm of 1900.

1:20.5	the great storm of 1900 part one was a story of the prosperity of Galveston and
1:28.0	the preparation or lack of preparation for what would become one of the most intense hurricanes to ever make landfall in the United States.
1:39.0	And we learned a little bit about what the U.S US Weather Service thought they knew about
1:45.2	hurricanes and we learned a lot about what they didn't know. I released a
1:49.6	bonus episode last week and the bonus episode covered the actual night of the storm
1:54.7	September 8th 1900 and I didn't feel like that we could cover the 1900 storm
2:00.0	without talking about the absolutely horrible night and the terror that the people felt as they went through that experience.

2:15.0	And today I want to talk about what they saw the morning of September 9, 1900 after the
