This subject, upon seeing the police car, began waving his arms excitedly. I turned around on the highway and drove back to see what he wanted. He shouted to me to stay away from him. I asked him why, and he replied saying he had seen two spaceships.

When I walked into the bedroom, the wall of odors struck me so hard I stopped my tracks.

It was the stink of sulfur overlaid with ozone, a smell that comes out of a burning

electric motor that has overheated. Together they formed a measma of sickness, of wrongness, so much so that I froze in place.
