Hey, y'all, this is Mark. Welcome to episode 236. Today's show is all about Parleens and other New Orleans suites. The last show was about an exhibit at the Historic New Orleans Collection called The Trail They Blazed. It was all about the fight for civil rights in New Orleans. If you missed it, go back and give it a listen. I think you really enjoy it. Before we jump in, let me talk about the people that make this show possible. One of my favorite places to get both is at Loretta's Authentic Parliant. I'm joined today by the owner of Loretta's Mr. Robbie Harrison. How are you? Doing great. Finally, great to be on the show. Let me tell you, very persistent. I appreciate that. Of course. So much. And I love the fact that you took two things, Praulines and Beny's. And that's what my mom did. Yeah. Bless her heart. We miss her so much, but she took

her namesake, Loretta's, Pauline's, butter, sugar, milk, and pecans. And she mashed it with a

local cuisine like the Beny, which has its roots from France. And it just took off when she started it about seven years ago. Yeah, we're going to get into all that. I'm excited to do it. So a little bit of backstory for listeners. Robbie and I have been trying to connect for probably over two years. Yes. Right after your mom passed, actually, I think. And, you know, those of you listened for a long time, I grew up in a small business. Robbie's running a tremendous small business. He's busy running around doing all kinds of stuff, trying to keep things afloat. And we just kept missing and missing and missing. But I was a big fan of your mom's, big fan of the place, and I really wanted to do it. So I just kept sticking with it, reaching out every few weeks or every other month to see. And finally, after, like I said, probably two, two and a half years, here we are. So I am glad to finally do it. And I'm so glad to be here too. I tell you, the people who set this up got us together. Thank them so much. We'll mention them later on. But I'm so excited to do this with you. Cool. That's roll. I'm ready.
