Detroit Lions Podcast Demands Change The talk of the day Tuesday was the epic failure of the officials in the Monday Night Football game. This should never happen to another team. You couldn’t even see the chess match that is coaching strategy. Success of effort on the field – immolated. It was all overshadowed by terrible officiating. A third, supposedly uninvolved party, changed the game. They’ve done so for countless NFL teams. The Lions have had their share of bad calls, but we don’t corner the market. It’s time to take action. Our best bet as fans is to engage the players and make this a part of the CBA negotiation. Its where we have a shot at the real money, which is all that matters to the NFL. The players are the only people with power against the NFL – we need to engage them. Players can improve their careers, safety, and bonuses and force the league to change the way officiating is handled. Fans can finally force the owners to provide a product they can believe in.
