The first time I was ever left speechless while watching someone's feet leave the ground

was the 2000 NBA Dunk contest.

Vince Carter, half-man, have amazing step forward, a Lanky glistening 66, palming a striped

rubber melon with five fingers bouncing and spinning it backwards.

The camera cut to his expression locked in direct eye contact with the iron.

He ascended feet off the floor, spitting gracefully, arm-wind milling at full velocity.

He dunked the ball, the crowd cheered and ecstasy.

The second time I was left speechless by as someone's feet leaving the ground, I was

juggling a stack of one dollar pepperoni pizza while giving my number to TJ, a potential

love interest.

He stepped forward as stringy, sweating 5-11, fumbling with a bulky black phone.

He looked nervous, only making eye contact with the keypad.

I was malding the last two digits when he and his flip phone left the sidewalk, feet
