Hey everybody, Tom Woods here and I'm delighted to have our old friend Sean Rittenauer with us.

One of the many people I could stand to talk too more often and for some reason I do not,

but we have the good foreshort talking to him today.

We are talking in particular about his brand new book on an extremely important topic

and it's called the economics of prosperity, rethinking economic growth and development.

This is really getting to the question of what makes countries wealthy

and in a way, especially when we talk about development policy,

we can also implicitly be talking about what does not make them prosperous,

what fails, what does not work.

So we want to talk about what are the ingredients and sometimes in this day and age

we have a lot of professional economists who don't quite get this right.

They have one or two of the ingredients but maybe not all of them

or they don't exactly know how they work together.
