Many Republicans are skeptical of the consensus of the intelligence community over Russian hacking of the DNC and cooperation with WikiLeaks.

If that seems weird, it probably shouldn't. After all, Republicans have seen how regulatory agencies exceed and pervert their mandate on a regular basis.

It's hard to make the case the CIA isn't politicized when the head of the CIA criticizes Donald Trump's Iran policy.

It's also hard to argue that the EPA isn't politicized when they issue regulations that have

nothing to do with their enabling legislation and those regulations get struck down by the

Supreme Court. The latest indicator that our regulatory agencies are merely instruments of

leftism will come courtesy of the EPA and the Federal Reserve.

On Wednesday, the EPA released a report that vaguely accused the fracking industry of contaminating groundwater.

That's actually different from last year's version, the draft version, in which the EPA

said openly that fracking didn't have any, quote, widespread systematic impacts on drinking

water.

Now that sentence is gone.

Instead, of the original draft,

which said contamination cases were small compared to the large number of fracking sites.

Now the report says fracking, quote, can impact drinking water resources under some circumstances,

unquote. Deputy Assistant Administrator of the EPA Thomas Burke explained, quote,

while the number of identified cases of drinking water contamination is small, the scientific evidence is insufficient

to support estimates of the frequency of contamination. In other words, there's not enough

evidence of contamination to say that contamination is serious, but there's also not enough

evidence to dismiss the issue. This report is obviously time to hamper the Trump

administration's stated desire to open up fracking resources and relieve regulatory burdens. Meanwhile,

the Federal Reserve announced interest rate increases beginning just before Trump takes office.
