population as we all knew that it would. Fortunately, a vast majority of cases are very mild, especially for those with antibodies

The most interesting thing I saw in the news this week was within LA County hospitals.

Almost 70% of patients who have tested positive for the virus at the hospital were admitted

COVID or COVID related complications. That compares with during last winter surge,

only 20% of COVID patients were in the hospital for unrelated issues, meaning 80% were there

because they were experiencing severe illness from COVID.

So that's, you know, just kind of part of the same narrative, which I think is positive news,

despite, of course, the discomfort of the case numbers going up.

Deaths are flat to falling on average across the country, even as these cases are spiking

just about everywhere.

So I hope that the decoupling between case numbers and the severe outcomes continues.
