Duarte, love to ride motorcycles.

The US Marine Corps veteran joined Jarhead's motorcycle club, where he rode with other veterans

and active servicemen from New England.

It was a way to give back.

The club put on charity rides and held fundraisers to support veteran causes and volunteer to serve

lunch at the VA hospitals.

On June 21, 2019, the morning started out foggy.

The club's annual meeting was taking place a new hamster that day.

Lunch was a barbecue.

Tad had two or three beers and then stopped drinking after lunch.

He knew the plan was to ride on Route 2 to the American Legion, for more food and for

the fundraiser to continue.

On 6 p.m. that evening, they left for the American Legion.

A group of riders got into formation, close together, staggered, two lines, one in the

left lane, one in the right lane.

Tad found himself in a place he wasn't used to, in the back of the pack.

As he rode with about 15 other motorcycles, they set out on their journey.

Several motorcycles, maybe eight motorcycles, were coming down from the cabins from the

other end.

For some reason, I stopped and I stopped and let them all proceed in front of me, which

would put me at the very back.
