Summary
On the day of the school shooting at Oxford High School last week, Senator Chris Murphy delivered a passionate speech on the Senate floor tying together the dishonest “sanctity of life” rhetoric from conservatives and the culture of guns, violence and death that is plaguing America. Senator Murphy has been a leading voice when it comes to gun violence in America ever since the Sandy Hook massacre on December 14, 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut. He joins Mike to discuss how America’s founding violence against slaves made the disregard for human life part of our national ethos and how America’s modern day wars overseas continues to legitimize and promote violence both abroad and at home.
