in this Part 2 episode. Last time we did a nice shallow dive,

I mentioned the Meijue kingdom and how during the Chin, Han and the Jin,

and again in the Tang, these ancient Min people witness these migrations of Han Chinese from the north to Fujian, among other places.

In this episode, I wanted to sort of round everything out with a look at some of the larger and more famous

Hokkien communities which no surprise are all in Asia. As I said the

Hokkien diaspora covers the globe but it's pretty thick in about seven countries, namely

Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and as you might expect, with a flight distance of 220 miles between

Chaman and Taipei, a lot of Hokkien ended up in Taiwan too.
