| 0:00.0 | Everyone, Marshall here. Welcome to season two of The Realignment. |
| 0:10.0 | Before we dive into the episode, we wanted to take the chance to reiterate what we're all about |
| 0:14.0 | at this podcast. We think that America is in the middle of a political realignment where you have |
| 0:20.4 | shifting parties, differing ideologies, and whole new sets of issues that are going to force |
| 0:25.9 | everyone to question and reckon with a changing world. We bring on a guest every week who's |
| 0:31.5 | really at the center of each of these issues for the perspective on how we should think about the |
| 0:36.2 | world. We do it through three lenses, technology, foreign policy, and economics. We opened up this |

| 1:28.7 | So his book is all about how we can we find a way in a realignment America to forge a new |
| 1:34.0 | consensus, a new class settlement in the 21st century. So we actually got the chance to record |
| 1:39.4 | this episode in front of a live audience at the Hudson Institute and we had a really great crowd. |
| 1:44.0 | Huge thanks to everyone who came out. Let's dive in. |
| 1:53.4 | Just reiterate, if you have any questions, events at Hudson.org. |
| 1:56.8 | The jury will get sick of your news talk. So at that point, I'll speak for you. |
| 2:01.8 | I'll wire your questions. With that, Marshall, why don't you start us off? |
