0:21.1	but God is always working even today right in the middle of your mess. I'm Jen Jewel, the host of
0:25.9	this little podcast, and I just want to say welcome and let you know how honored I am to have you
0:30.2	joining me in this highly imperfect space where we huddled together to remember what matters most.
0:35.4	So I have some bad news and good news. The bad news is this will actually be the last episode for 2017.
0:41.5	But the good news is we'll be back starting on January 9th, ready and expectant for all that God has planned for the messy table in 2018.
0:49.0	But first, it's almost Christmas.
0:51.2	And Christmas is only a week and a half away.
0:53.4	And I know some of you right now are listening to this as you're out frantically trying to finish that last minute shopping or moving your elf to some magical or mischievous spot.
1:01.9	Or maybe you're just trying hard to wrap up projects at work or at home before the kids are out of school or family comes to town.
1:07.6	Hey, I'm right there with you and I can start to feel extremely overwhelmed.
1:11.6	But that's when we all just need to take a deep breath, maybe walk outside for a minute and
1:15.5	remember why this season actually exists.
1:19.0	A little summary, God made this amazing world, we messed it up with our sin, and yet a Savior
1:24.7	has been sent to us to pave the way to redemption.
1:27.7	The Old Testament prophet Isaiah said,
1:29.8	The Lord himself will give you a sign.
1:31.8	Look, the Virgin will conceive a child.
1:34.7	She will give birth to a son and will call him Emmanuel,
1:37.6	which means God is with us.
1:39.3	And as we see recorded in the New Testament,
1:41.2	this prophecy along with hundreds of others have been fulfilled.
