So I had this tremendous life, very, very happy and surfing anytime I wanted.

And remember one day I had this little dog called Jordy that just loved to get to the beach with me.

I'd just say beach and he would run around on circles like dogs too.

In fact, I love dogs. I think dogs are better than people.

People don't wag their tails when they see your coming dogs and you're so faithful.

So he ran around on circles, crazy. I grabbed my new surfboard,

went down a driveway, turned to the left and he ran ahead of me tremendously excited

and I screamed out, Jordy come back.

And I, as a young guy, had not trained my dog to be obedient.

It just didn't end my head.

And he didn't obey me. He was just excited. He ran onto the road.

And I saw this in slow motion that was a large car, hit him.

He went under the car, was thrown out the back.

I dropped my brand new surfboard on the sidewalk.

Ran onto the road without looking, I could have been killed too.

Grab my beloved dog, ran home, sat at the bottom of our driveway

with this dog in my arms with a holden's head and blood dripping out of his mouth.

He was still conscious.

And suddenly a car pulls up, just opposite me and it was the guy that had hit the dog.

And a man walked across, put his hat on my shoulder and burst into tears.

It was so traumatic.

The dog was rushed to the veterinarian and that night they called us
