It seems like just yesterday that I was in the back of a van with Bernie Sanders in Chicago

recording the first episode of the Axviles.

And here we are today, the 200th episode of the Axviles.

And I just want to thank all of you who have been faithful listeners of these conversations.

Today's is a particular interest because Ed Gillespie, the Republican who lost the Virginia

governor's race in November, a particularly heated and controversial governor's race,

sat down for his first conversation since that campaign to talk about some of the controversial

decisions that he made in the campaign, some of the advertisements that got a great deal

of attention and perhaps contributed to the wave of voters who helped elect the Democrat

Ralph Northam to the state house.

But that race was merely the quota on a long and interesting career in public life, the

reason that Ed sits on the board of the Institute of Politics.
