Thank you for being on this journey with me. And today we're going to talk about

reparenting ourselves. Reparenting ourselves. and the reality is, many of us are disconnected from ourselves because there are some things that we missed growing up. There are some ways in which we were not fully

nourished or affirmed or prepared as children.

And as adults, we recognize that parents are imperfect people and we recognize that they parented us from the position of their own capacity, wellness, mental health, knowledge, evolution.

They parented us based on where they were.

And perhaps even over time, they are not in that place anymore,

but that season of our lives is gone.

And we also think about this from the standpoint of as children,

what we missed and what impact that had, but also as adults, what does it mean to try to make up for lost time?

What does it mean to give myself what I never received? And the reasons I did not

receive it can be varied and you may have sadness about the ways in which

your parents were not able to show up for you. You may have anger about the ways in which your parents did not show up for you. You may have disappointment, confusion, frustration, even for some of us there may be shame about the ways

that you were not mothered or fathered in a way that would have empowered you, affirmed you, seen you.
