Today we'll be telling the story of Our Lady of China

whose feast is celebrated on May 24th.

The apparition of Our Lady of China took place in Donglu China in the year 1900.

After her appearance, the pastor of the town's church, Father Wu, commissioned a painting of Mary and baby Jesus dressed in gold imperial Chinese robes.

That image was blessed and spread by Pope Pius the 11th in 1928.

Father Wu and the other priests of Donglu

were gathered together for their breakfast. They ate quietly. The tone in the

Rome was somber. They knew that the Boxer Rebellion was gaining momentum across China. They were

afraid. The Boxers were targeting foreigners and Christians.
