Hello, friends, and welcome back to the Bikes for Death podcast. As always, my name is Patrick and I am your

host. And on today's episode, I'm talking to my good friend, Indiana Schultz, also known as Indie,

also known as Drive by Dildo. India is no stranger to the podcast. This is his fourth appearance on the Bikes for Death podcast.

And I made a little error in today's conversation.

I think I said he had come on episodes two and three, but I went back and looked it up.

He's been on episodes four, five, and 110.

The first two episodes are about the Grand Gravel 500 back in 2018,

and the episode 110 is about when he did the East Texas Showdown and was the first and only person to date to do a yo-yo on that course. So many of you will be familiar with Indy.

He first made waves in the backpacking world whenever he entered his first bikepacking race in

2017, the infamous American trail race where he came in second place. And since since then he has just been on an absolute tear

taking on some of the most challenging and iconic races that our sport has to offer

his crowning achievement came in 2023 when he became one of only 23 people to do the triple

crown challenge but Indy has now

traded in his racing days to become a full-time bike traveler. This is a dream that Indy has had

for many, many years. That dream started when he was six years old and he wanted to travel the world.

Once he got into bike packing, he quickly realized that one day he wanted to travel the world

by bike. So after selling everything that he owned, except for the things that he needed to take

on his bike trip, Indy set out to travel the world by bike in May of last year.

He started his journey in Dead Horse, Alaska, starting first with the Dalton Highway.

And he is currently on the Baja Divide, which is where I caught up with him on a rest day in La Paz,

or La Paz, depending on who you ask.
