0:47.2	We've had an investigation ongoing for the last 28 years and I can announce that if Walter
0:52.4	Leo Jackson Sr. were alive today in light of what our investigation has uncovered to include the new forensic evidence, the information that he visited Shenandoah National Park and evidence of his
1:05.1	other crimes that I would authorize a federal indictment to be presented to the
1:09.6	grand jury charging two counts of first-degree murder.
1:13.4	The FBI says a new team of investigators in Richmond
1:16.8	recently went over all of the evidence in the case.
1:19.8	As a result of these examinations,
1:22.0	DNA was successfully pulled from several atoms of
1:24.9	evidence and when that DNA profile was put into codis the national DNA
1:30.1	database the FBI said it linked to Jackson who was last arrested in 2011. He died in 2018.
1:38.0	We can now also confirm that Jackson, a residential painter by trade, was an avid hiker with past interests
1:46.7	and travel to Shenandoah National Park.
