From the magnificent Midwest, it's the Suzanne Venker Show, where men and women are equal in value, but wildly different by nature.

Join us here every week as we challenge the culture's hugely flawed narratives about men,

women, sex, and love.

From coast to coast and from around the world, thank you for joining us.

So last week, we discussed the surprising research that showed having more relationship experience is linked to having a less happy marriage later on.

Pretty provocative finding, actually. And it's in direct opposition to the popular advice that parents pass on to their young adult children today,

that they shouldn't get married to the first person they fall in love with and should instead

But with casual sex normalized in what we've dubbed hookup culture,

1:56.5

this isn't possible,

1:58.3

which is why there's really no point in dating until or unless you do it

with an eye toward marriage. I think that's why dating has become such a mess for young people

2:08.9

today. They have no compass whatsoever. All the old rules have gone out the window and they're

just flailing about. It's pointless and it's exhausting.
