All right, everybody. Welcome back to the three of seven podcasts. Holy smokes. We got, we have a special guest for you guys today.

0:10.9

I've been so pumped about this episode. No pressure by the way, Chris. What's up, brother? Yeah, special is one descriptor.

0:18.7

We doctor. That's doctor. Don't call him, Chris. We have our first doctor on the podcast, but even, okay, I'm gonna ask you this later,

0:28.1

but even more important to me, we got another team guy on the podcast is so cool to have another team guy in the studio, man.

0:38.3

It's special to me. It is. It's it's taking us a bit to get together. I know we've crossed paths a few times in downtown Rome, Georgia,

0:46.2

because it's such a large place we wouldn't run into each other. But yeah, that was sarcasm. My wife says I'm not a lot of use that.

0:54.3

So, but yeah, Chad and I have crossed paths quite a few times just in passing and here recently at one of the local restaurants and yeah, I've been looking forward to it.

1:06.1

Me too, brother. Me too. And I just noticed it looks like a Toyota dealership out there in in in front of the in front of HQ.

1:15.8

They, Chris, what is up with team guys and Tacomas, man? They last. And spending eight, you know, the truck I would like to get is 80 plus thousand dollars.

1:25.0

I just checked here recently and it's like, I can't bring myself to do it. Maybe if I win the lottery, what do you want? I don't play the lottery.

1:31.8

Do you want the tundra or like a souped up Tacoma? I would just I would want a full-size something that I can tow a trailer with.

1:39.5

Yeah, a bit better, but I mean, I went from an outback being in California, San Diego, where hunting is more or less frowned upon.

1:49.4

And so I was getting into the beach scene, paddle boards, that whole thing. And then when I came out to the East Coast, I started hunting, putting a harvested deer in the back of an outback.

2:00.5

It worked once, but I saw that that might not be the best thing in the future. So when we sold our house in Virginia, my wife finally said, she said, you know what?

2:08.4

Get your truck. So we went out and got and she goes, do you have to get new? And I went, well, they used our 30 and there's no one's 32. I might as well get the new one. Yeah.

2:18.0

So I've got a five year old truck with 50,000 miles on it. So it's, you know, that's what it's for. It's for putting turkey and deer and dead squirrels and things that I get out in the woods and get after.

2:28.3

I just remember you, you know, after team, man, you pull up in front of the team. And it's like just a parking lot full of Tacomas.

2:37.1

I mean, that yeah, it's just a parking lot full of Tacomas. So well, when the bonus is kicked in that kind of upgraded to the full size truck, so it's the honest.

2:47.5

Well, dude, like I say, it's an honor and a pleasure. I got, I want to, I'm really interested in starting at the beginning of your story, Chris, because what year did you join the Navy?

3:01.5

1987, 87. Okay. Where'd you grow up in Virginia Beach? Really? Yeah. Okay. My dad was a mass chief in the SEAL teams. Okay. I'm learning new stuff the whole time. This is, this has given me a little insight, because I was, I'm interested in in your generation, because it's, I think it's so much different than mine in a way, because we were in a war when I joined the Navy.

3:30.3

You guys in the 80s, there wasn't a whole lot going on. There's always something going on, but there wasn't a big conflict. And I just, I just have to, I have to wonder what, what drove you to become a SEAL during that, at that place in time. And also, there were no books about SEALs. There were no movies about nobody knew what this thing was.

4:01.1

Well, I grew up, you know, on weekends where people were doing camping trips and stuff like that. I was at the team area with my dad. He was in UDT 21 and then SDVs. So I grew up crawling around in them, exploring the attic, finding different gear, all of that kind of stuff. So I had an awareness of it.
