Today, I'm going to have a conversation with a friend of the podcast, Matthew Syed.

As you know, Matthew was Britain's number one table tennis player who became a journalist and an author after he retired. He has previously published four excellent books, bounce, black box thinking.

that excellent podcast, didn't with Freddie Flintoff and Robbie Savage. I used to enjoy listening

to that, but it seems to have stopped a couple of years ago. I don't know why. Well, let's find out. Let's meet him. Here he is. This is Matthew.

Hi, Matthew. How are you? Tim, I'm good. Where are you, by the way? I think the last time we did a podcast

together, I came to your home, which isn't far from where I live in southwest London. But are you there now?

I'm still in my kitchen, but now we do it over Zoom. So exciting stuff. I've just did my intro,

talked about your podcast you did with Freddie Flintoff and Robbie Savage, which is no longer.

What happened there? Because that was a great podcast.

I love doing it, to be honest, but Fred got a presenting role on Top Gear, traveled a lot.

It was very difficult to coordinate diaries. But Rob and I have started recording some podcasts,

Robbie Savage and I. So we have about six in the can now,

and I think we're going to launch sometime next year. But Fred, we couldn't get him involved.
