Summary

Family Research Council’s David Closson joins Joseph Backholm to discuss his new book Life After Roe, examining the impact of Roe v. Wade’s overturn in 2022. While 22,000 lives were saved, abortion reached an all-time high in the years following the overturn. They explore the role of pro-life laws, the church’s response, and the emerging debate on IVF. As culture shifts, how do we stay committed to biblical truth and protect the most vulnerable?

because that's what we do here on Outstanding. As you know, Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022. And according to a new report from the

Journal of the American Medical Association, or JAMA, there were over 22,000 excess births in 14 states

1:21.4

where pro-life laws were put into place. Now, what is an excess birth? Well, that's 22,000 babies

1:27.3

who were born, who otherwise would not have been aborn if

1:31.3

Roe versus Wade had not been overturned.

1:34.1

So that means 22,000 more babies lived.

1:37.0

And that's, of course, good news.

1:38.6

But not all the news is encouraging because, in fact, in 2023, which is the first full year after Roe v. Wade was overturned,
