Summary

A warm welcome to our guest Dr. Michael Brown as we talk eschatology, Israelology, and how to interpret biblical prophecy. So much God has said in His word has yet to come to pass. Many times prophecies are fulfilled in part and then later in full. Cycles and typologies exist that play out, as it's often been said, history not repeating but often rhyming. We are living in exciting times but also times of great deception and biblical confusion. May the Holy Spirit lead us into all truth!

In the first few centuries, there was still the understanding that there would be future salvation of Israel.

All the eschatology we find was what you call pre-millennial. There would

0:22.4

be a literal reign of Messiah on the earth, that before that there'd be a literal Antichrist and

0:27.5

the final battle, and then the reign of Messiah on the earth literally interpreted. So that was the

0:32.4

mainstream view of the early church. There are promises that God made about what he would do on the earth that

0:39.6

have not yet been fulfilled, promises he made to Israel that have not yet been fulfilled, things that

0:44.8

he's going to demonstrate on this earth. I believe one reason for the millennial kingdom is not

0:50.9

just for God to demonstrate his glory on this earth as he promised,

0:59.9

but also to undercut the objections about why I can't serve God or why I can't believe in God are going to disappear. And yet, at the end, when Satan's released, a vast number of people

are still going to rebel against God. Someone gave me a book questioning the preacher of rapture.

It just made me wonder, wait a second. every last thing I believe, I believe because of Scripture.

1:15.6

Except this.

I've preached probably about 200 trips overseas.

1:20.6

Christians who never heard of Schofield, who never heard of Hal Lindsay, who never read, left behind series,

1:26.6

reading their Bible, telling me how they love

1:29.0

the Jewish people, how they pray for Israel, and how amazing it is to see the prophecies fulfilled

1:33.8

as God's birth to Jewish people. In other words, just reading the Bible, he said we'd be

1:38.8

scattered around the world and we'd gather, we'd be disciplined, we'd be judge, we'd be decimated,

1:43.6

but he'd preserve us. And it happened?

1:46.0

Is that coincidence or isn't what's written? Just read Jeremiah 31, the New Covenant Prophecy,

1:52.0

right to the end of the chapter. Jerusalem will be rebuilt and never destroyed again. That hasn't

1:57.5

happened yet. The same, the end of Amos, other passages that just point to things
