We have a terrific show planned for you today. We're going to go out to Washington DC and talk with our main man, Delano Squires.

He's written an interesting column about Joe Biden school choice and what it says about black voters and about Democrats and black voters.

He also wrote a piece about Ibrahim Kinley X comparing him to Frederick Douglass and how do you really combat racism.

But we're also going to be joined by K. Himmowitz of the Manhattan Institute.

You guys know that over the past couple of weeks I've been talking about the Money Hand report and how that was a pivotal moment for black families, for black men, for black women.

In the 1960s and I've been talking about it here in the past couple of weeks.

K. Himmowitz for the City Journal in New York wrote about it in 2005, 16 years ago.

She wrote a brilliant piece about the mistake we made ignoring the Money Hand report.

Anyway, I've read the piece. It's phenomenal. And so I want to get her take 15, 16 years after she wrote that piece, does she still think the Money Hand report is critical about the narrative of African Americans here in America.

But we're going to start where we've been what we've been talking about the last few days.

And I want to go much bigger picture. I don't want to reduce it just to Simone Biles.

We've done that. The US gymnast who quit on her team on Tuesday during the team competition and has subsequently withdrawn from the all around competition.

American young lady won that earlier today or this morning or late last night won the all around competition. But Simone Biles has quit under the pretense of mental stress.

And we've talked about that for the past couple of days. But I think there is a much bigger and broader point to be made on, Jimmy.

I think that I think what's gone on with Simone Biles and America's reaction to it has indicated a level of change in American culture just overnight.

And I'm going to sound like an old person and you know what I'm guilty of it. But things are changing too fast in this country.

And I look at what's gone on in terms of our mentality about quitting. There was no bigger crime you could have in sports than quitting.

The worst name you could be called is a quitter. And just a couple years ago, Vontay Davis, a quarterback for the Colts, quit at halftime or retired at halftime of an NFL game. And everybody ridiculed him. Everybody did.

Yes we did.

Now here we are two years later. Simone Biles gets to the biggest stage, perhaps on the planet. I don't know what event.

Maybe the World Cup rivals the Olympics, but I don't think it does. The World Cup is a global stage. And America's premier athlete, the face of these Olympics.
